Estambul es hoy una mezcla ancestral de culturas, idiomas y religiones que le dan un sabor único. Lo que sé ve, sé escucha, sé come, sé huele, completan él cuadro. El hecho de estar en 2 continentes la hace también muy particular. Resaltan la Basílica de Santa Sofía, la Mezquita Azul (llamada así por los azulejos azules de su interior) con sus seis minaretes, el Palacio de Verano (Dolmabahçe), la Torre del Gálata y desde luego el Palacio de Topkapi. Recorrer la Ciudad con un guía es imprescindible pues de otra manera sé pierde una cantidad de información muy valiosa que sin ella se demeritoria el valor de lo que se visita. Él esplendor del Palacio de Topkapi sé cuece aparte. El poder y la riqueza de los Sultanes Otomanos debió ser incalculable. Se dice que la flota de guerra Otomana fue pagada por el Sultán Abdul Aziz de su presupuesto personal y no es poca cosa porque era considerada la segunda en tamaño y poderío solo por debajo de la Inglesa. El tour nos llevó también a la Cisterna que penosamente estaba vacía. Otra experiencia lo fue el Gran Bazar. Lleno de gente, comercios y una serie de pasillos en los que es fácil perderse. Muy buen recorrido.
